A shooting in Amsterdam resulted in one person being injured; authorities have arrested three individuals.
A man was injured in a shooting incident that occurred on Thursday evening in Amsterdam, prompting a swift response from police and emergency teams. The incident took place around 10:15 PM on Vlaardingenlaan street in the Slotervaart area, according to the Dutch newspaper Het Parool.
The police confirmed that the injured man was taken to the hospital for treatment, while two people suspected of being involved in the incident were arrested. Authorities clarified that investigations are still ongoing to determine the circumstances of the incident and the precise roles of those involved.
The police arrested the two suspects in the nearby Nieuw-West area (West of New Amsterdam) shortly after the shooting occurred. The injured man himself was also later detained at the hospital, as a standard procedure followed by the police in cases of violence until responsibilities are clearly determined.
A police spokesperson said that the investigation is still in its early stages, and the possible motives or the nature of the relationship between the individuals involved have not yet been revealed.
