South-Kaohsiung-Pingtung TPASS Now Reaches Chiayi: Inter-regional Travel Made Easier
The TPASS commuter monthly pass introduced in Taiwan has provided great convenience for many people. In particular, the "South-Kaohsiung-Pingtung TPASS" can now be used to travel to Chiayi County, in addition to its use in Tainan, Kaohsiung, and Pingtung. This service makes cross-county transportation simpler and more affordable.
According to recent traffic information, travelers can start from Kaohsiung by taking a bus or the MRT to Kaohsiung Station. Then, transfer to a Taiwan Railways train to Xinying Station in Tainan. Upon arriving in Xinying, they can transfer to a Tainan City Bus cross-border route to reach Yizhu Township in Chiayi County.
The design of these cross-border routes is primarily intended to benefit residents living in neighboring areas. Although Yizhu Township belongs to Chiayi County, its proximity to Tainan allows passengers to complete the entire journey using the South-Kaohsiung-Pingtung TPASS via the Tainan City Bus system without needing to purchase additional tickets.
For those who frequently travel across Southern Taiwan, this policy saves a significant amount on transportation costs. Whether for weekend trips or daily commutes, by making good use of bus and train transfers, people can explore more towns at a fixed monthly price.
In summary, the cross-border functionality of the South-Kaohsiung-Pingtung TPASS breaks down the boundaries between counties and cities. This not only increases the usage rate of public transportation but also strengthens the transportation network in Southern Taiwan. In the future, the public can make more use of these cross-border routes when planning their trips to enjoy a more convenient travel experience.
