TDRI proposes 3 approaches to reform Thailand's health system to reduce the financial burden on the public
The Thailand Development Research Institute (TDRI), in collaboration with health research networks, has proposed key approaches to reform Thailand's public health system. The focus is on addressing issues that directly impact the public, ensuring that Thai citizens can more easily access quality medical treatment and reducing unnecessary expenses.
The urgent approaches proposed by TDRI consist of three main areas: adopting new medical innovations to increase treatment efficiency, building financial literacy regarding medical care to help the public better plan for expenses, and developing renal replacement therapy systems, which is a major issue currently affecting a large number of patients.
Furthermore, TDRI emphasized the importance of applying research findings into actual policy. They are calling for government agencies and relevant stakeholders to collaborate in using this data to develop public health infrastructure, ensuring that Thailand's treatment system remains sustainable and capable of supporting an aging society in the future.
This system improvement is considered a significant step toward reducing inequality in accessing medical services. If these approaches are seriously implemented, it will help improve the quality of life for the Thai people and reduce concerns regarding the rising costs of medical treatment each year.
