Ministry of Public Health orders inspection of nursing home in Rewadee area, urgently caring for 83 elderly residents
The Ministry of Public Health has ordered relevant agencies to inspect a nursing home in the Rewadee area of Nonthaburi province following reports of operational irregularities. The primary objective is to urgently protect the rights and ensure the safety of all 83 service recipients.
Preliminary inspections revealed that 59 of the service recipients are in the green category, meaning they have mild symptoms and are capable of a certain level of self-care. The Ministry of Social Development and Human Security (MSDHS) has coordinated with the relatives of these elderly individuals to have them picked up for home care as appropriate, ensuring their safety and a better quality of life.
For the remaining 24 service recipients who require close supervision or have health issues necessitating ongoing treatment, officials will facilitate their transfer to standard medical facilities or agencies to ensure that everyone receives proper and continuous medical care in accordance with patient rights.
This incident serves as an important lesson in regulating nursing home establishments to ensure compliance with legal standards. The Ministry of Public Health affirms that it will conduct a thorough investigation to prevent similar issues from recurring in the future and will closely monitor the follow-up care for those affected.
