Thai Police Conduct Full-Scale Rehearsal in Preparation for 2026 IMF-World Bank Global Meetings
The Royal Thai Police has begun top-level preparations to host the upcoming global meetings, specifically the Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank, which Thailand has been honored to host in 2026.
Recently, over one thousand police officers mobilized for a full-scale security simulation exercise at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. The drill focused on emergency management and area control to ensure that the future meetings will proceed as smoothly and safely as possible.
This exercise was not only about preparing personnel but also served to test communication systems and coordination between various agencies, ensuring maximum efficiency in providing security for leaders and participants from around the world who will be traveling to Thailand.
The Royal Thai Police's commitment in this endeavor aims to build confidence and elevate Thailand's image as a country with international safety standards, which will have a positive long-term impact on international trust in Thailand.
This intensive preparation marks a significant step for Thailand in demonstrating its capacity to host international conferences. All relevant units continue to plan and conduct contingency drills to ensure readiness for any situation leading up to the actual meetings in 2026.
