Samut Prakan declares disaster zone following severe flooding across 6 districts
Samut Prakan Province has officially declared several areas as disaster zones following flooding that has impacted the daily lives and travel of residents throughout the province.
The disaster declaration covers a total of 6 districts, namely Mueang Samut Prakan, Bang Phli, Bang Bo, Bang Sao Thong, and Phra Samut Chedi. Relevant agencies are currently rushing to assess the damage and provide urgent assistance to the affected citizens.
The primary cause of this flooding is the continuous heavy rainfall combined with rising water levels in major rivers and canals, which has made drainage difficult and resulted in standing water on main roads and in many communities.
Currently, officials from local agencies and volunteers have been deployed to install water pumps and prepare for the situation, focusing on draining water from economic zones and residential areas to alleviate the hardship.
