Bangkok Metropolitan Administration launches central kitchen project, focusing on healthy food to reduce childhood obesity
The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration has implemented a new project by launching a "central kitchen" to produce nutritious and hygienic food, with the primary goal of promoting good health for students under the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration.
In the initial phase, this project has begun operating through the central kitchen to deliver quality food to 7 pilot schools, covering over 1,500 students, with a focus on preparing fresh ingredients that are nutritionally complete for school-aged children.
The key objective of this project is to address childhood obesity, which is a significant health issue today. Providing appropriate meals will help students receive sufficient nutrients and reduce the consumption of foods that are excessively high in sugar or fat.
Beyond health, the central kitchen project also helps standardize food safety across schools, which will have a positive long-term impact on the physical and intellectual development of students.
The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration hopes that this project will serve as a model for expansion to other schools in the future, in order to create a good and sustainable food environment for the youth in the capital.
