South Korea reveals 20% surge in Thai tourists, sets target to attract visitors throughout 2026

The Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) has revealed the latest data showing that the number of Thai tourists visiting South Korea in the first five months of 2026 has grown by 20% compared to the same period last year, a positive sign reflecting the continued popularity of South Korea among Thai travelers.

Looking back at 2025, South Korea welcomed over 333,930 Thai tourists, a figure that reflects South Korea's status as a top destination for Thais, despite frequent discussions surrounding travel factors and immigration measures.

To build on this success, the KTO has set a target of 410,000 Thai tourists for the entire year of 2026, focusing on strategies to collaborate with key private sector partners, namely Krungthai Card Public Company Limited (KTC) and Thai Airways, to further stimulate tourism in the second half of the year.

This collaboration focuses on organizing special promotions and value-for-money travel packages to facilitate and make it easier for tourists to decide to travel. It is expected that these marketing activities will help drive the total number of Thai tourists to meet the set target and further strengthen tourism relations between the two countries.
