Thailand Post partners with Queen Saovabha Memorial Institute to launch “Venom Express Thailand” for nationwide antivenom delivery
Thailand Post (THP) has announced a significant partnership with the Queen Saovabha Memorial Institute, Thai Red Cross Society, to launch the “Venom Express Thailand” project, an urgent antivenom delivery service. The initiative aims to increase the survival rate of patients bitten by venomous snakes in remote areas across Thailand.
The core of this project is to leverage Thailand Post’s extensive nationwide delivery network to transport antivenom from the Queen Saovabha Memorial Institute to hospitals across the country quickly and safely. This service will help overcome geographical and logistical limitations, which have historically been major obstacles in treating patients bitten by venomous snakes.
Operations under this partnership will utilize high-standard logistics management systems to ensure the quality of the antivenom is maintained and ready for use at all times. Furthermore, a real-time tracking system has been developed to allow medical personnel to plan treatments accurately and promptly.
This collaboration marks a major step in elevating Thailand's public health system by utilizing the potential of state agencies to make medical services more accessible to the public. This project not only helps save lives but also provides reassurance to citizens living in areas at risk of venomous snakes.
