ThaiHealth joins forces with Lampang to accelerate awareness for preventing sudden nocturnal death
The Thai Health Promotion Foundation (ThaiHealth) has partnered with Lampang province to implement a project aimed at preventing serious health issues, particularly sudden nocturnal death, which is a matter of significant concern for many people today.
Sudden death during sleep, or dying in one's sleep, can be caused by various factors such as heart disease, respiratory conditions, or sleep apnea. Raising awareness is therefore crucial to ensure that people can recognize abnormal symptoms in themselves and their family members in a timely manner.
This project focuses on providing knowledge about key warning signs, such as unusually loud snoring, waking up gasping in the middle of the night, or feeling breathless while sleeping. If these signs are present, patients should consult a doctor for a thorough health check-up before any unexpected incidents occur.
Furthermore, Lampang province has established pilot areas to provide education to the community, emphasizing the adjustment of daily lifestyle habits, such as regular exercise, eating nutritious food, and getting sufficient rest, to reduce the risk of chronic diseases that lead to such conditions.
This collaboration marks a significant step in fostering better well-being for the Thai people. Having accurate knowledge and consistently monitoring one's own health will help reduce mortality rates and enable everyone to enjoy a better quality of life in the long term.
