Thailand prepares to host the global health conference GWS 2026 in Phuket
The Department of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine, Ministry of Public Health, has officially announced its readiness to host the 20th Global Wellness Summit (GWS 2026), which will take place in Phuket. This is considered a significant opportunity to showcase Thailand's potential in medicine and health to the world.
The primary goal of this conference is to present Thai wisdom alongside modern innovation, aiming to propel Thailand toward becoming a Global Wellness Hub, which will help promote the wellness tourism industry and stimulate the country's economy sustainably.
The event will bring together over 600 health leaders from around the world to exchange knowledge and experience, fostering international business cooperation networks in the health sector. Furthermore, it provides an opportunity for Thai entrepreneurs to demonstrate their potential in providing health services and products that meet international standards.
Selecting Phuket as the venue is a key strategic move, as the city is well-equipped with both infrastructure and tourism facilities, which will help attract participants from across the globe to experience comprehensive Thai wellness care.
The success of hosting this event is expected to have a long-term positive impact on Thailand's wellness industry, in terms of job creation, increasing national revenue, and elevating the standards of Thai traditional medicine to gain even greater international recognition.
