House Anti-Corruption Committee joins forces with DSI to accelerate investigation into local government exam fraud and nominee issues
The House Committee on Corruption and Misconduct Prevention and Suppression has met with the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) to discuss collaborative approaches to preventing and suppressing corruption in Thailand, emphasizing the importance of working together to establish transparency within government agencies.
The key issue discussed was the investigation into corruption cases regarding competitive examinations for local government positions, a matter of significant public interest. The committee has established a panel to closely monitor officials involved in the alleged fraud to ensure fairness for all exam candidates.
Beyond the examination issue, both agencies discussed the problem of using 'nominees' in business operations, which negatively impacts the country's economy and legal system. The DSI and the House Committee will jointly develop measures to seriously track and investigate this matter further.
Regarding reports linking three politicians to the corruption case, the committee clarified that at this stage, the information lacks sufficient weight to conclude that they are actually involved. They must wait for the results of evidence collection and in-depth investigations from the responsible officials first.
This collaboration between the House Committee on Corruption and Misconduct Prevention and Suppression and the DSI marks a significant step in elevating efforts to suppress corruption in the public sector, with the hope of building public trust and reducing corruption problems in the future.
