Thailand Prepares Medical Readiness for 2026 IMF and World Bank Meetings
The Thai Ministry of Public Health has begun preparing its medical and public health readiness to support the hosting of the 2026 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank, which are considered globally significant events.
For this meeting, participants from 191 countries around the world will travel to Thailand. Therefore, the Ministry of Public Health is prioritizing healthcare planning for all attendees to ensure high standards of health safety throughout their stay in Thailand.
Key operational plans include the establishment of medical command centers and specialized clinics to closely monitor and provide assistance to meeting participants. This also includes preparing network hospitals and emergency patient referral systems to ensure maximum speed and efficiency.
In addition to medical treatment, the Ministry is also preparing disease surveillance measures and public health management systems to prevent risks that may arise during a large-scale event where people from various countries gather.
This preparation is not only intended to facilitate the meeting participants but also to demonstrate Thailand's potential in hosting international conferences and to build confidence among foreigners traveling into the country.
