Ministry of Public Health partners with True to launch life-saving medical delivery drones in remote areas of Mae Chaem District
The Ministry of Public Health has collaborated with True Corporation to develop the "Medical Drone" project, aimed at upgrading public health services in remote areas. The operation has commenced in Mae Chaem District, Chiang Mai Province, as a tribute to the monarchy and to increase access to medical treatment for the public.
This project builds upon the success of the "Pua Model" in Nan Province, adapting it through "True SkyBridge" technology, an intelligent automated aerial logistics platform. The drones will be responsible for transporting essential medicines and medical supplies to areas that are difficult to access or feature steep mountainous terrain.
Utilizing drones will help reduce travel time from several hours by car to just a few minutes, which is a critical factor in saving patients' lives during emergencies, especially in situations where medicine or medical equipment is urgently needed.
Beyond increasing speed, this technology elevates the potential of the Thai public health system, making it more modern. Using drones to transport medical supplies marks a significant step in applying digital innovation to address inequality in access to medical services for Thai people in remote areas.
This collaboration reflects the commitment of both the public and private sectors to apply technology for the tangible benefit of society. In the future, this project may be expanded to other areas across the country to ensure that all citizens receive efficient and rapid public health services equally.
