NXPO partners with 15 universities to establish UHC network, driving Thai research toward high-tech business
The Office of National Higher Education Science Research and Innovation Policy Council (NXPO), in collaboration with the National Innovation Agency (NIA) and 15 leading universities across the country, has announced a significant partnership to establish the UHC Consortium, aimed at elevating research from the classroom to practical application in the business sector.
The primary goal of this collaboration is to create an ecosystem that fosters the growth of high-tech businesses, or Deep Tech, by pooling resources, research funding, and knowledge from various universities and integrating them with the expertise of partners from both the public and private sectors to transform research findings into innovations that meet global market demands.
This project sets a long-term goal of creating 100 Deep Tech spin-off companies. Furthermore, it focuses on empowering five high-potential companies to be ready for entry into the capital market, thereby building sustainability for Thailand's innovation-based economy.
This collective effort marks a crucial step in bridging the gap between education and industry, ensuring that Thai research is not left on the shelf but can instead generate economic value and enhance the country's international competitiveness in the future.
