Public and private sectors join forces to drive 7 business groups, pushing Thai economic growth to 3%
Ekniti Nitithanprapas, Director-General of the Revenue Department, in collaboration with the Joint Standing Committee on Commerce, Industry and Banking (JSCCIB), has announced the launch of the 'Reinvent Thailand' project to restructure and enhance the country's competitiveness, with a primary goal of stimulating the Thai economy to achieve 3% growth this year.
This project focuses on supporting 7 high-potential target business groups, including technology, digital, clean energy, and healthcare services industries. The government will step in to help reduce legal and tax barriers to enable entrepreneurs to conduct business more conveniently and rapidly.
Representatives from the private sector stated that this collaboration marks a significant step in attracting foreign investment and helping small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) better adapt to the digital economy era, which will have long-term positive effects on employment and public income.
Furthermore, both parties are preparing to discuss additional support measures to ensure that operations remain continuous and yield concrete results, with a focus on creating new innovations that will help Thai products and services gain greater international recognition.
Overall, this roadmap is considered a major effort to restore the strength of the Thai economy amidst global economic challenges, with the government and the private sector working closely together to push Thailand toward becoming a sustainable economic hub in the region.
