TAT sets next year's tourism revenue target at 3 trillion baht, focusing on health strengths
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is moving forward with its plan to fully stimulate the tourism economy, setting a total tourism revenue target of 3 trillion baht for next year to push the tourism sector to once again become a primary engine for driving the country's economy.
Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, Governor of the TAT, revealed that the current tourism situation has passed its lowest point and is entering a period of continuous recovery. The TAT will focus on attracting tourists by highlighting the strengths of health and wellness tourism, which is popular and creates significant added value for the Thai tourism industry.
In addition, the TAT is preparing to propose various benefit schemes to the Cabinet for approval, aiming to implement projects that will stimulate travel for both Thai and international tourists to meet the set targets. It is expected that this will help distribute income to communities and local entrepreneurs across the country.
This operation is considered a significant step in elevating the standards of Thai tourism to be sustainable and to meet the needs of tourists in the new era, which will help build confidence among entrepreneurs in the tourism and service industries, ensuring they are ready to handle the growth expected next year.
