Volunteer Public Service Activities in Honor of National Mother's Day, August 12
On the occasion of the birthday anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, which falls on August 12 of every year and is celebrated as National Mother's Day in Thailand, various agencies have joined together to organize activities to offer as a royal merit and to demonstrate their loyalty.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the Thailand Association of the Blind, organized volunteer public service activities to assist society and those in need. This initiative focuses on fostering unity and encouraging the participation of personnel within the agency in performing good deeds for the public benefit.
The objective of this event is to encourage people in society to recognize the importance of being a giver, particularly by supporting the Thailand Association of the Blind, an organization that cares for and improves the quality of life for the visually impaired so that they may live happily in society.
In addition to the volunteer activities, people across Thailand have also joined in organizing various commemorative events to express their gratitude for the long-standing royal benevolence Her Majesty has shown toward the Thai people. These activities serve as part of creating an atmosphere of love and bond within families and Thai society.
These volunteer activities serve as a fine example of cooperation between the public sector and charitable organizations to create sustainable benefits for society, and to continue the royal aspiration of caring for and assisting the underprivileged to ensure they have a better quality of life.
