Ministry of Interior orders investigation into Jewish cemetery in Chachoengsao following discovery of unreported burials
The Deputy Minister of Interior visited a Jewish cemetery in Bang Khla District, Chachoengsao Province, after receiving reports that burials had been conducted without permission and without proper notification to government authorities as required by law.
Upon preliminary inspection, officials discovered four bodies buried within the site. Authorities have immediately ordered a suspension of all movement of remains and restricted access to the entire area to allow relevant officials to conduct a detailed forensic identification, as well as to determine the identities of the deceased and how they entered Thailand.
Beyond the issue of the burials, the Minister has instructed relevant agencies to expedite an investigation into the financial trails and land ownership of the site, due to concerns that it may be linked to nominee schemes or illegal land holding, which are critical issues affecting national security.
At present, officials are gathering evidence and all relevant information to report to the Prime Minister. Strict legal action will be taken against all involved parties to prevent such incidents from occurring again in the future.
