Ministry of Interior partners with Ministry of Defence to mobilize forces in response to heavy rain and flooding in Bangkok
The Ministry of Interior has announced a major collaboration with the Ministry of Defence to prepare for heavy rainfall and flooding in the Bangkok metropolitan area, with the primary goal of minimizing the impact on the public and the capital's traffic system.
In this operation, both agencies have mobilized a large number of personnel and heavy machinery to be stationed at various high-risk points throughout Bangkok, particularly in low-lying areas that frequently experience flooding during continuous rainfall, ensuring that assistance can be provided to the public quickly and in a timely manner.
Furthermore, preparations have been made regarding water pumping equipment and large trucks to help drain water from road surfaces and residential areas, as well as the deployment of personnel to facilitate travel for citizens who may be affected by the heavy rain.
The government requests that the public closely follow news and alerts from relevant agencies to prepare for changing weather conditions and to avoid flooded routes for travel safety.
This collaboration between the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Defence serves as a proactive measure to reassure Bangkok residents in dealing with flooding during the rainy season, with various agencies continuing to monitor the situation closely until weather conditions return to normal.
