Ministry of Social Development and Human Security Prepares Renovation Plan for Thung Song Hong Housing, Building 3,800 New Condo Units
Mr. Varawut Silpa-archa, Minister of Social Development and Human Security (MSDHS), visited the Thung Song Hong community housing in Don Mueang District to monitor living conditions and offer encouragement to the elderly and vulnerable groups residing in the area. The Governor of the National Housing Authority also joined the visit.
From the site visit, it was found that the residential buildings in the Thung Song Hong housing project have been in use for over 47 years, causing the structures to deteriorate and no longer meet modern living requirements, especially for the elderly who need safer and more convenient accommodation.
The Ministry of Social Development and Human Security has therefore planned to propose a project to the Cabinet for a major renovation in 2028, with the goal of demolishing the existing buildings and constructing modern condominium buildings in their place to improve the quality of life for the residents.
The project is expected to accommodate up to 3,800 units, which will help increase the availability of standardized and safer housing. Furthermore, it will organize the community to be modern and suitable for the current urban social environment.
This operation is part of the government's policy focused on developing housing for the public, particularly for low-income and vulnerable groups, to ensure that everyone has a good quality of life and long-term residential security.
