Prime Minister convenes security agencies to discuss unrest in the southern border provinces and orders oversight of the Khlong Thom fire site
Yesterday, the Prime Minister urgently convened a meeting with security agencies at the Thai Khu Fah Building, Government House, to discuss the unrest and disturbances in the southern border provinces. This meeting took place prior to the regular Cabinet meeting to monitor the situation and establish preventive measures against potential violence.
In addition to security matters, the Prime Minister visited the Khlong Thom Center fire site to assess the damage and offer encouragement to those affected by the incident. The Prime Minister instructed the relevant authorities to expedite assistance to the public to the fullest extent.
Regarding crime prevention, the Prime Minister ordered police officers and relevant agencies to increase vigilance in the area affected by the fire to prevent opportunistic criminals from exploiting the victims or stealing property from the damaged shops.
The government affirms that it will closely monitor the situation in both the southern border provinces and Bangkok to build confidence and ensure the safety of the public, and will provide periodic updates on progress to the public.
