Foreign Film Productions Flock to Thailand, Generating Over 4 Billion Baht in Revenue During First Half of the Year

Ms. Ploytalay Laksameesangchan, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, stated that investment figures from foreign film crews in the first half of the year reached as high as 4,025 million baht. A key reason filmmakers choose Thailand is the beauty of its diverse filming locations and the readiness of professional Thai crews.
The arrival of these film crews has a positive impact on various economic sectors, not only within the film industry but also including the hotel business, transportation, and local employment. Furthermore, it helps promote Thai culture and tourist attractions to a global audience through the silver screen.
The Thai government aims for investment figures to continue rising steadily and potentially reach a new record high by 2026. This is supported through various policies, such as cash rebate incentives for film crews that invest according to specified conditions, in order to attract more large-scale international projects.
