Ministry of Public Health partners with MSD to elevate Thai medicine, aiming for domestic production of drugs and vaccines
The Thai Ministry of Public Health has announced a significant partnership with MSD, a leading global pharmaceutical company, to drive Thailand toward becoming a full-fledged Medical Hub, with a focus on improving public health and sustainable economic growth.
This collaboration prioritizes expanding access to the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine for the public, aiming to reduce illness rates and build strong immunity for the Thai people. Furthermore, both parties have agreed to collaborate on clinical research to further advance the standards of medical treatment in Thailand.
Another key issue is the feasibility study for the domestic production of HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), which will make the medication more accessible and affordable for patients, while also reducing the burden of long-term reliance on imported drugs.
Implementing this partnership not only enhances Thailand's public health competitiveness on the international stage but also establishes pharmaceutical security for the country, which will positively impact the quality of life for Thai people and the overall economy in the future.
