Report indicates young Thais face higher 'burnout' rates than the global average

The 2026 AXA Mind Health Report has revealed compelling data regarding the mental health situation in Thailand, finding that young people aged 18 to 34 are facing increasingly severe mental health challenges, with figures 13 percent higher than the global average.

The data indicates that the primary issue facing working-age individuals and the younger generation in Thailand is 'burnout,' which significantly impacts their daily lives and work. Pressure from social conditions and heightened competition are driving this group to seek new ways to manage their stress.

As a result, a new trend in mental health care has emerged, with more than 59 percent of young people turning to artificial intelligence (AI) as a consultant and a means of initial mental support. Because AI is easily accessible and available 24 hours a day, it has become a crucial tool in helping to reduce feelings of isolation during difficult times.

However, experts believe that while technology plays a significant role, sustainable mental health care still requires understanding and support from those around us, as well as achieving a proper work-life balance to prevent burnout from becoming a chronic issue that negatively affects long-term health.
