Government confirms no policy for public co-payment in the '30 Baht Health Scheme'
A group of over 60 Red Shirt representatives traveled to the Pheu Thai Party headquarters to submit a letter opposing rumors regarding a restructuring of the '30 Baht Health Scheme,' or the Gold Card scheme, expressing concerns that additional fees might be charged to the public for medical services.
Julapun Amornvivat, Deputy Minister of Finance, stepped forward to provide information to reassure the public, confirming that the government has no concept or policy whatsoever to require citizens to co-pay for this scheme.
Julapun emphasized that the 30 Baht Health Scheme is considered a significant policy legacy initiated during the Thaksin Shinawatra administration. Therefore, the Pheu Thai Party is committed to protecting and maintaining the standards of this public health service to ensure that all citizens can access medical treatment equally and without financial burden.
This mobilization by the Red Shirt group reflects the public's concern regarding basic welfare, and the government has pledged to remain committed to the original principles for the greatest benefit of the Thai people.
