TikTok launches #TeensAware campaign to build a protective shield for Thai youth online
TikTok, the popular short-form video platform, has moved forward with the launch of a new campaign titled #TeensAware (#วัยทีนรู้ทัน) to focus on promoting safety and building digital immunity for Thai youth. This initiative is a collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, aimed at enabling teenagers to use social media more creatively and safely.
Currently, the online world is filled with a vast amount of information that reaches youth rapidly. This campaign is designed to teach teenagers how to filter useful information and how to protect themselves from cyber threats, such as cyberbullying or scams, which are common issues among younger users.
Beyond providing knowledge, the campaign encourages youth to understand how to set account privacy settings and manage their screen time appropriately to maintain good mental health and development. Content is being disseminated through easy-to-understand short videos to directly reach the target teenage audience.
This collaboration between TikTok and government agencies marks a significant step in creating a safe digital environment in Thailand. Providing education to youth is considered the most sustainable way to address online risks, ensuring they can grow alongside technology with confidence and awareness.
