Thailand joins hands with Russia to advance free trade negotiations and expand technological cooperation
Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, welcomed the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation to discuss ways to strengthen relations between the two countries, emphasizing the promotion of key economic cooperation in the future.
The main point of the discussion was to push for the establishment of a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Thailand and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), a group of countries with high economic potential. This agreement will help reduce trade barriers and open up opportunities for Thai products to enter the Russian market and member countries more extensively.
In addition to trade, both sides also discussed cooperation in other areas beneficial to both nations, including agriculture, energy, and technology, focusing on the exchange of knowledge and innovation to improve quality of life and enhance Thailand's competitiveness on the global stage.
This discussion marks an important step in building economic and energy security for Thailand, with the Thai government ready to support operations at every stage to ensure that the negotiations achieve the set goals.
Overall, this cooperation between Thailand and Russia reflects Thailand's efforts to expand trade markets and build new partnerships, which will be beneficial to Thai entrepreneurs and the country's economy in the long term.
