Government joins forces with 4 tech giants to use satellite technology for disaster warning and climate change response
Thai government agencies have announced a major partnership with four global technology companies to enhance their response to the climate change crisis. The initiative focuses on utilizing advanced technology to monitor and provide early warnings for natural disasters, which are becoming increasingly severe.
The core of this collaboration is the use of "eyes from space," or high-resolution satellite data, to monitor weather and environmental changes in real time. This data will be analyzed to forecast situations in advance, allowing relevant agencies to prepare and evacuate citizens in high-risk areas more quickly and accurately.
Beyond satellite technology, the partnership with leading tech firms includes the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Big Data analytics to process risk assessments for areas across the country. This will help reduce the loss of life and property caused by floods, landslides, or droughts that may occur in the future.
This project marks a significant step in applying digital innovation for the safety of the nation. The government hopes that integrating data from all sectors will help build sustainable climate security for Thailand and bring disaster management efficiency up to international standards.
