Business Sector Proposes "Reinvent Thailand" Concept to Unlock Thai Economy for Over 5% Growth
The Joint Standing Committee on Commerce, Industry and Banking (JSCCIB) has introduced the "Reinvent Thailand" concept to drive the country's economy back toward strong growth. The goal is to push the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth rate above 5% per year, which is considered a challenging target in the current economic climate.
This concept focuses on addressing structural issues that hinder business growth. The JSCCIB believes that if Thailand can modernize its regulations and promote the adoption of new technologies, it will enhance international competitiveness and attract more foreign investors to the country.
Furthermore, the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum was identified as a key platform for Thailand to showcase its potential and build cooperation with member economies. Linking the Thai economy to the global market will open new opportunities for Thai entrepreneurs, particularly in industries focused on innovation and sustainability.
Regarding the 5% growth target, the private sector is confident it can be achieved through close coordination between the public and private sectors. Improving the tax system, developing labor skills to meet market demands, and supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are crucial factors for the success of this plan.
In summary, the "Reinvent Thailand" concept is an effort to establish a new foundation for the Thai economy to keep pace with global changes. If all sectors collaborate earnestly, Thailand will have the opportunity to see stable growth, which will positively impact the income and quality of life for its citizens in the long term.
