Thailand moves to upgrade as a global wellness hub, pushing Thai massage and herbs to the international stage
The Ministry of Public Health has announced a major strategic plan to propel Thailand toward becoming a "Global High-Value Wellness Hub," with a focus on adding value to the country's health and medical tourism industries to make them stand out even more on the international stage.
The core of this project is to elevate the potential of Medical Wellness, focusing on showcasing Thailand's strengths, such as world-renowned Thai massage, as well as integrating Thai herbs with modern technology to create reliable service standards that meet the needs of health-conscious tourists.
Beyond herbs and massage, the Ministry is also prioritizing "Longevity Medicine," a health trend currently gaining popularity worldwide. Incorporating new health innovations will help Thailand attract high-spending tourists and generate more long-term revenue for the country.
The launch of various activities and events marks a significant step in promoting Thailand's health image to a wider audience, as well as supporting local entrepreneurs by providing opportunities to grow and develop their service standards to meet international levels.
In summary, this government effort is not only aimed at promoting the economy through medical tourism but also at preserving and advancing Thai wisdom to be modern and sustainable, which will help Thailand maintain its position as a leader in the global wellness industry firmly in the future.
