Prime Minister Anutin opens THAIDEF-EX 2026, focusing on developing the defense industry for the Thai economy
On July 8, 2026, Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul presided over the opening ceremony of the defense industry exhibition, THAIDEF-EX 2026, at the Office of the Permanent Secretary for Defence in Nonthaburi province. The primary objective of this event is to promote the potential of Thailand's domestic defense industry to become stronger and more advanced.
The Prime Minister stated that this event marks a significant step in driving the policy of self-reliance in national security. The government aims to support Thai entrepreneurs in producing military equipment and technology domestically, which will not only help reduce imports from abroad but also create economic competitive opportunities for the country.
Furthermore, Mr. Anutin emphasized the concept of "Make Love, Not War," stating that the development of Thailand's defense industry is primarily aimed at self-defense and maintaining regional peace, with no intention of aggression or creating conflict with any nation.
Therefore, THAIDEF-EX 2026 serves as a crucial platform that provides opportunities for government agencies and the private sector to exchange knowledge on modern technology, as well as to showcase the potential of the Thai industry to the international community. This is considered a part of stimulating the economy and building sustainable security for Thailand in the future.
