Ministry of Public Health promotes "Healthy Cities" across Thailand, now covering 935 locations
The Ministry of Public Health is moving forward to improve the quality of life for Thai citizens through the "Healthy Cities" project, utilizing the Health Impact Assessment (HIA) mechanism as a key tool for policy formulation to create sustainable environments and well-being for people in the community.
Recently, the project has achieved significant success, successfully driving the creation of 935 healthy cities nationwide, which exceeds the initial target set. This reflects the strong cooperation between central agencies and local administrative organizations.
This operation focuses on improving local environments to be conducive to good health, such as managing public spaces, promoting nutrition, and creating easily accessible public health systems, so that people in each area can effectively take care of their own health.
This success is considered a major step in developing the grassroots public health system. The Ministry of Public Health aims to continue this project to ensure that people in every region of Thailand will receive services and enjoy a better quality of life in a thorough and sustainable manner.
