Social Security Board election set for September 27; insured persons and employers can exercise their rights immediately

The Social Security Office has announced its readiness for the election of the new Social Security Board, which will take place on September 27. This follows the Central Administrative Court's order to revoke the previous announcement regarding the postponement of the election, allowing the process of selecting representatives to manage the Social Security Fund to proceed according to the new schedule.

The Minister of Labour approved amendments to the relevant regulations on August 14 to ensure the election is more transparent and fair. These regulatory improvements focus on facilitating all eligible voters, ensuring that the representatives who take office truly reflect the majority voice of both insured persons and employers.

Those eligible to vote in this election include insured persons under Sections 33, 39, and 40, as well as employers registered with the Social Security Office. All eligible individuals can exercise their right to vote immediately at designated polling stations without the need for advance registration, a measure intended to reduce procedural steps and encourage higher voter turnout.

This election is of utmost importance as the Social Security Board will play a key role in setting policies and managing the fund to oversee the welfare and benefits of insured persons nationwide. Therefore, the participation of both employers and employees is essential to ensuring that the operations of the Social Security Office are efficient and better aligned with the needs of the insured.
