Ministry of Interior accelerates resolution of local government exam corruption; conclusion expected by the end of August

Mr. Worasit Liangprasit, Deputy Minister of Interior, has revealed progress in addressing corruption in the competitive examinations for local government official positions. This issue has garnered significant public attention as it impacts the transparency and opportunities of all examinees.

The Ministry of Interior, through the Department of Local Administration, has accelerated a thorough fact-finding investigation. This involves collecting evidence and comparing the actual test scores of candidates accused of cheating to ensure fairness for all parties involved in the selection process.

Currently, the Department is preparing clear measures and guidelines to deal with those involved in the corruption. The matter will be proposed to the Provincial Government Official Committee to consider disciplinary actions, including the dismissal of officials or involved individuals from their positions if they are found guilty based on the evidence presented.

The Deputy Minister of Interior confirmed that the entire investigation process will be completed by August 31st to provide clarity and restore public confidence in future government selection examinations.

This action marks a significant step for the Ministry of Interior in demonstrating its stance on transparency and serves as a deterrent to prevent similar incidents of corruption in competitive examinations for local government agencies nationwide.
