Ministry of Culture pushes for 'Thai traditional dress' to become World Heritage, sends youth to peace forum in Paris
The Ministry of Culture is moving forward with promoting the Thai image on the international stage. Ms. Sabida Thaiseth, Minister of Culture, has announced full support for the promotion of royal-favored Thai dresses and the royal-bestowed shirt to foster pride and showcase the nation's cultural identity to the world.
A significant development in this initiative is the preparation to push for Thai traditional dress to be registered as a World Heritage item by UNESCO. The consideration and official announcement are expected to take place this coming December, marking a major step in elevating the value of Thai attire on the international stage.
Beyond cultural heritage, the Ministry is also prioritizing the participation of the younger generation. Twelve Thai youths have been selected as representatives to attend a peace conference in Paris, France, to exchange perspectives and build collaborative networks with youth from around the world.
These efforts reflect the government's commitment to integrating the preservation of traditional culture with modern lifestyles, as well as providing opportunities for Thai youth to demonstrate their potential on the global stage, thereby building a positive reputation and image for Thailand in the future.
