Parit Wacharasindhu comments on Senators preparing to file an ethics probe against Election Commissioner Sitthichote
Parit Wacharasindhu, a Member of Parliament from the People's Party, has expressed his opinion regarding the move by a group of Senators to file a petition with the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) to investigate the ethical conduct of Election Commissioner Sitthichote Inthrawiset.
This issue arose following actions by the group of Senators seeking an investigation into the performance of this specific Election Commissioner. Parit noted the conduct of individuals involved in independent organizations, a matter currently drawing significant public attention.
Parit stated that investigating the work of independent organizations is permissible under legal mechanisms to ensure transparency. However, he added that if an ethics investigation is to take place, it should also consider the performance standards of the Chairperson of the Election Commission and other commissioners who may have engaged in similar behavior, in order to ensure fairness for all parties.
At present, there is no official conclusion regarding the filing of the petition with the NACC. This situation reflects the efforts of political factions to intensely scrutinize the work of independent organizations, and the public continues to closely monitor the actions of the relevant authorities.
