Thailand in the Spotlight! 4 Chinese Tech Giants Invest 70 Billion Baht to Expand EV and AI Production Bases
Thailand is stepping up to become a full-fledged regional technology hub as four leading Chinese tech companies—Xiaomi, ChangAn, InnoLight, Eoptolink, and Huawei—have announced major investment plans in Thailand, totaling over 70 billion baht, to expand production bases and establish research and development (R&D) centers in the country.
This investment covers several key industries of the future, focusing on electric vehicle (EV) production, as well as the development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology and data centers, which are considered the heart of driving the digital economy in the modern era.
The Thai government has implemented support measures to fully attract these investors, aiming to facilitate the transfer of advanced technology to Thailand to increase international competitiveness and create high-skilled job opportunities for the Thai workforce in the future.
Currently, relevant agencies are accelerating coordination to designate industrial estates and provinces that will serve as the main production bases, which is expected to stimulate the local economy and build confidence among other foreign investors who are also considering investing in Thailand.
