Public Health Committee rushes to find solutions after finding concerning mental health issues among Thai youth
The House Committee on Public Health organized a forum to develop the potential of Thai youth, focusing on well-being and a good quality of life, allowing youth to exchange opinions and find ways to take care of their physical and mental health in a manner appropriate for the current era.
During the discussion, Mr. Sakoltee Phattiyakul expressed concern regarding the current mental health situation of Thai children and youth, stating that this issue is of great importance and must be addressed urgently, as youth are facing pressure from many sides, including academics, social issues, and the changes brought about by the digital world.
The committee has therefore opened a space for youth to participate in proposing solutions, so that relevant agencies can use the information to plan and create policies that truly meet the needs of the new generation, with an emphasis on creating an environment that fosters better mental health.
This activity is considered an important starting point for raising awareness in Thai society about the importance of mental health in adolescence, which not only requires care from families but also requires cooperation from the government and educational institutions to support safe spaces for youth to express themselves and continue to grow with quality.
