New Proposal: Relocate Central Data Centers to EEC Area for Security and Efficiency
Mr. Suradej Taweesaengsakulthai has called on the Prime Minister to take the lead in addressing the issue of data centers located in Bangkok, proposing the relocation of two data centers to the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) instead to reduce risks and increase the efficiency of national data management.
The primary reason for this proposal is security, as many data centers are currently situated in high-density areas that are vulnerable to disasters or unexpected accidents. Relocating these data centers to the EEC, which features modern digital infrastructure designed to support economic expansion, would ensure that data storage is more secure and resilient.
Mr. Suradej also emphasized that this is a matter of national importance that impacts the confidence of foreign investors. Therefore, the government and the opposition should come together to discuss and collaborate on pushing this project forward, ensuring that Thailand is prepared to become a regional digital hub in the future.
Currently, this proposal is gaining attention from various sectors, with many viewing the relocation of data centers not only as a way to enhance security but also as a means to distribute growth to areas outside of Bangkok, aligning with the government's economic development policy to advance digital infrastructure.
In conclusion, relocating data centers to the EEC is a significant step that requires cooperation from all parties, both public and private. If successful, this project will serve as a strong starting point for modernizing Thailand's digital infrastructure to ensure long-term security and efficiency.
