Anutin visits Prachin Buri to accelerate flood relief efforts and expand emergency budget
Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, visited Prachin Buri province to closely monitor the flood situation after many areas in the province were widely affected by stagnant floodwaters, marking the most critical phase of the situation at this time.
Upon visiting the area, it was found that water levels remain high, impacting the daily lives of residents in several districts. Mr. Anutin has instructed relevant local agencies to accelerate assistance to the public with full capacity, particularly regarding housing, food, and drinking water, to alleviate initial hardships as much as possible.
Furthermore, the government is preparing to consider expanding the emergency budget to be used for water management and providing comprehensive relief to flood victims, emphasizing that assistance to the public must be swift and efficient to ensure the situation returns to normal as quickly as possible.
Regarding long-term response plans, Mr. Anutin stated that the situation will be continuously assessed to establish measures for prevention and to reduce potential future damage. He also urged residents in high-risk areas to closely monitor official announcements and strictly follow the instructions of authorities.
