Ministry of Public Health launches “770 Healthy Menus” project to elevate Thai cuisine nationwide
The Ministry of Public Health has officially launched the “Thai Food Good Health” project, with a key objective of elevating the standards of Thai cuisine to be more than just delicious, but also beneficial to the health of consumers. This project focuses on leveraging the strengths of Thailand’s unique flavors and culinary culture to develop dishes with appropriate nutritional value.
The core of this project is the creation of “770 Healthy Menus,” which will be distributed across 77 provinces throughout Thailand. Each province will select its famous local dishes and refine the recipes to ensure they are nutritionally balanced, with reduced sugar, fat, and sodium, making it easier for the public to access healthy food in their daily lives.
Beyond health, this project also aims to stimulate the local economy by encouraging restaurants and entrepreneurs in each province to offer these healthy menus for sale. This will help build a positive image for Thai cuisine as “healthy food” that is internationally recognized, attracting health-conscious tourists to come and experience Thai food.
This initiative represents an integration of cooperation between government agencies and local entrepreneurs to create sustainability for the Thai food system, both in terms of public health and the grassroots economy. Interested citizens can soon follow details regarding the healthy menus of their respective provinces through the Ministry of Public Health’s public relations channels.
