Recently, representatives from the General Practitioners Association of Thailand, the Royal College of Family Physicians of Thailand, and the Family Medicine Academic Center met with Deputy Prime Minister Songsak Thongsri to discuss strengthening and increasing the efficiency of Thailand's primary healthcare system.
During the discussion, the delegation of physicians presented guidelines for improving local-level health service systems to make quality medical care more accessible to the public. The focus was on proactive work centered on community health care, which is considered the heart of the Thai public health system.
In addition to system development, the working group emphasized the importance of boosting the morale of medical teams and personnel working in remote areas. They proposed providing appropriate resources and welfare support to ensure these personnel can work to their full potential and maintain career stability.
For his part, the Deputy Prime Minister acknowledged the proposals and expressed agreement with upgrading the primary healthcare system, stating that the government prioritizes improving the quality of life for citizens through universal access to public health services.
