NT joins forces with MEA to build a nationwide smart EV charging station network
National Telecom Public Company Limited (NT) has announced a significant partnership with the Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) to develop digital infrastructure and data systems for electric vehicles (EVs), with the primary goal of creating a "Smart EV Ecosystem" that covers the entire area of Thailand.
This collaboration leverages the respective strengths of both organizations. NT will provide support in communication networks and advanced digital technology to connect EV charging station usage data with MEA's management system, which will allow users to access various services more conveniently and quickly.
The project will focus on installing and expanding EV charging stations in key strategic areas across the country to meet the continuously increasing demand from EV users. Additionally, there is a development of energy consumption data analysis systems to ensure that electricity management at charging stations is as efficient and safe as possible.
Operations under this Smart EV Ecosystem project will not only facilitate EV users but also support government policies on the transition to clean energy, which will help reduce air pollution and promote the use of environmentally friendly technology in the long term.
In the future, NT and MEA plan to expand the scope of their cooperation to develop other digital services related to electricity usage in order to improve the quality of life for the public and drive Thailand toward becoming a full-fledged low-carbon society.
