BMA reveals high stress statistics among city residents, prepares to launch 'Bangkok Mind' platform to support mental health for teens and working adults

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has revealed concerning data regarding the mental health situation in the capital, finding that over 70 percent of those who underwent mental health assessments suffer from accumulated stress, which directly impacts the daily lives and work of urban residents today.

Surveys indicate that the groups most at risk for depression are teenagers and young adults aged 15 to 34, with a high risk rate of 21.25 percent. Additionally, the working-age group between 35 and 49 years old also shows a concerning level of risk, reflecting that mental health issues are becoming a pressing matter that requires urgent resolution.

To address these issues, the BMA has launched the 'Bangkok Mind' platform, a digital system specifically designed to screen the mental health of the public. This platform will allow urban residents to access self-assessments conveniently and quickly, while also providing a referral system for comprehensive care from specialists.

This initiative marks a significant step for the BMA in elevating mental health public services, ensuring that citizens of all age groups receive appropriate counseling and treatment guidelines, reducing the risk of depression, and building a society with better mental health in the future.
