South Korea reveals 20% surge in Thai tourists, sets target to attract visitors throughout 2026

The Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) has revealed the latest data showing that the number of Thai tourists visiting South Korea in the first five months of 2026 has grown by 20% compared to the same period last year, marking a significant positive sign for the tourism industry between the two countries.

In 2025, South Korea welcomed over 333,930 Thai tourists. As the popularity of traveling to South Korea among Thais continues to rise, the South Korean tourism agency is confident and has set a target of 410,000 Thai tourists by the end of 2026.

To achieve this goal, the KTO has announced partnerships with major allies in Thailand, namely Krungthai Card Public Company Limited (KTC) and Thai Airways, to jointly organize tourism promotion campaigns and stimulate travel during the second half of the year, which is a key period featuring special activities and promotions to attract tourists.

This collaboration focuses on facilitating travel and offering various privileges to Thai tourists, making visits to South Korea easier and more worthwhile. It is expected that the marketing activities scheduled for the remainder of the year will help drive tourist numbers to meet the set targets.
