Government Appoints 3 Experts to Data Center Board to Drive Thailand's Digital Economy
The Prime Minister has signed an order appointing three qualified experts to the Data Center Investment Promotion Committee to oversee and promote the strengthening of Thailand's digital infrastructure investments.
The three appointed experts are Mr. Chote Trachu, former Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment; Mr. Supot Teachavorasinskun; and Mr. Teer Neerasophon. These individuals possess expertise in management and technology, and they will assist the team in formulating policies and supervising investments in the data center industry to ensure efficiency.
The establishment of this committee is part of the national strategic plan to push Thailand toward becoming a data and technology hub in Southeast Asia. The government hopes that attracting investments from leading global technology companies will help create jobs and develop the skills of the Thai workforce in the future.
The primary role of this committee is to review and approve investment projects and establish standards for clean energy usage in data centers, in alignment with the country's sustainable development policy. This will serve as a key mechanism for driving Thailand's digital economy toward stable and sustainable growth.
