Ministry of Transport partners with MHESI to develop 'Tech to Track' technology to elevate Thai rail system standards
The Ministry of Transport has collaborated with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) to launch the 'Tech to Track' project, a significant partnership aimed at implementing research-based technologies to enhance the efficiency, safety, and modernity of Thailand's rail system.
The core of this project is the application of innovations developed by Thai researchers for the inspection and maintenance of rail systems, which will help reduce reliance on foreign technology. These technologies will enable more precise and rapid assessment of the integrity of railway tracks and related equipment than ever before.
Implementing this technology not only enhances passenger safety but also reduces long-term maintenance costs. Furthermore, it provides an opportunity for Thai personnel to learn and develop skills in managing rail systems independently, which is a vital part of building sustainability for the country's infrastructure.
This project marks a significant step in transitioning Thailand's rail transport system into the digital age. The relevant agencies aim to expand the use of this technology to railway lines nationwide in the future, ensuring that the public receives high-quality services that meet international safety standards.
