Visa reveals repeat tourists to Thailand generate massive revenue for the Thai economy
Visa has revealed interesting data regarding the behavior of international tourists traveling to Thailand, finding that repeat visitors are a highly significant group for the tourism sector and the economy as a whole.
Data indicates that although repeat tourists account for only 20 percent of all visitors, they generate as much as 34 percent of total spending. This reflects that tourists who have visited Thailand before tend to be more confident in their spending and more familiar with tourist destinations.
To support this opportunity, Visa has launched the "Visa Destinations" program, a platform that connects merchants and travel experiences to make it easier for tourists to access various services and to stimulate digital spending during their travels.
Encouraging repeat visits has thus become a new and important strategy for Thai entrepreneurs. Creating a positive impression and providing a great experience during the first visit will help attract these tourists to return, which will contribute to long-term revenue growth for Thailand's tourism industry.
