Bangkok is making major preparations to host the 2026 Annual Meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), a global event that will see participants from countries all around the world.
Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt and Deputy Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul attended a national committee meeting to monitor progress in event preparations, emphasizing planning across various sectors to ensure the event runs smoothly and leaves a positive impression on all attendees.
Regarding the management of the event venues, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration has ordered strict security measures to be implemented, along with the preparation of systems to handle various situations, particularly monitoring weather conditions and rainfall that could impact transportation and activities during that period.
This meeting will not only showcase Thailand's potential on the global stage but also serve as a key opportunity to stimulate Bangkok's economy and tourism. Relevant agencies will continue to work together to ensure that preparations in all aspects are as complete as possible before the scheduled dates.
